Derived from LA1-5s a clonal subline of LA-N-1. LA-N-1 was derived from neuroblastoma cells in the bone marrow of a 2-year-old male with clinical Stage IV neuroblastoma.

Sub Culture Routine
For routine maintenance, split cultures only after they have become very dense i.e. split once every 2-3 weeks at a 1:20 to 1:100 ratio; 8% CO2, 37C. Cells are moderate to weakly adherent. Allow floating clumps to settle then withdraw medium. Remove attached cells from substrate with 0.1% trypsin in calcium and magnesium ion free PBS or with PBS alone. Cells will detach in <5 minutes. When seeded into new flasks cells reattach readily. The population doubling time is approximately 2 days; saturation density is >1,000,000 cells/cm2. Cells grow best and are most adherent on a plastic substrate in medium at a pH of 6.9 - 7.2; they do not tolerate more alkaline pH well. Cultures hold well at high density with periodic medium changes. Cultures grow to high density as multilayers with numerous cell clumps, which may detach and float. This cell line shows little or no transdifferentiation to the S phenotype. The ECACC collections represent deposits of cell cultures from world-wide sources. While every effort is made to ensure details
distributed by ECACC are accurate, ECACC cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies in the data supplied. References where
quoted are mainly attributed to the establishment of the cell culture and not for any specific property of the cell line, therefore
further references should be obtained regarding cell culture characteristics. Passage numbers where given act only as a guide and
ECACC does not guarantee the passage number stated will be the passage number received by the customer.
Cell lines supplied by ECACC are for research purposes only. Enquiries regarding the commercial use of a cell line are referred to the depositor of the cell line. Some cell lines have additional special release conditions such as the requirement for a material transfer agreement to be completed by the potential recipient prior to the supply of the cell line. Please view the ECACC Terms & Conditions of Supply for more information.
